Art~n~Quilt

Well...I guess I should do some closeup shots of my quilt as you go so you
can see what I am actually doing. And the countdown of strips LOL. It isn't a bad way to quilt and is pretty quick. My son said to me..."mom are you gunna have that done soon" LOL I told him yes my goal is by the end of the month for this one...Which is very doable...if that's a word.

I've had a call from my Grandson Gavin...He lives in the states and he's 5 years old. He asked me to make him a "Cars" shirt to match his shorts I made him in the summer. Good thing I have some material left. More to add to the packages for the kids!!!! The postoffice just loves to see me coming LOL

I've been reading on alot of groups lately about family/holidays/issues with families/ so many unhappy Grammies, Moms and kids because of family problems.
It sure can get depressing and is sooooooo sad. I'm sure every family has it's problems...and some you just can't solve. Even mine! Lately I just look at what I do have and appreciate my dh, kids and grandkids even more. You can't keep thinking of what could have, should have, or might have been.

I am happy to have my extended families here on the net and wish you all happiness throughout the coming holiday seasons around the world. *hugs*

Well, I have to say my goal to get the quilt as you go done is going along. I have completed another row on the back side. I have 5 or 6 more rows to go with the little parts and then I sew the strips together and hand sew the backs closed. It seems like alot but it is not as fun as cq'ing LOL. I will get it done!

I have a few more cards in progress. I am also giving some of these to relatives this year. If anyone has any ideas on how to decorate some of these please feel free to comment and help me out!!!! The Santa's beard is all hand sewn with a similar type dimensional embroidery....practice practice practice...I want to learn to do that so much....the dimensional embroidery is so awesome looking. Just thought you'd like to see some wisps...LOL

Aren't these the most awesome hearts!!! I just love swapping and look forward to getting more of these wonderful hearts...I hope you enjoyed looking at them....they are much much nicer in person

I just love doing some of these hearts...this one Butterfly Garden came out so nice.
This one has been swapped. Over the weekend coming I will take pictures of what I've received. They are so beautiful...and my goal for these is a lap quilt.

I've also been making some Christmas presents for my granddaughter MacKenzie.
She has just begun to play with her Barbies and with mommy Kristie's help has been finally wanting to change clothes!!! So the order for clothes has arrived and I've taken a few pictures of the outfits so far that I've sewn for her. I want to make a few more outfits and pj's to match the pj's I'm making for Kenzie for her dolls. I need to get these done within the next few weeks too as they need to be shipped to the states.

I have joined another Postcard Group...ohhhhh I belong to tooo many for sure!
But this group is nice as the groups for swapping are kept small. With that I
can do some cards and still get other items done....as the quilts below and some more
hearts. But I thought I would share some of the pictures with you....

Alrighty!! A challenge has been offered by Sandie to complete some UFO/WISPS and I
have these two quilts that need to get done. The Wedding Ring Quilt for our youngest daughter has been in the works toooooooo long for sure....she doesn't know I'm working on it so naturally I'm not "pushed" to get it done...no deadline no work LOL. I think I would like to do some hand embroidery, machine embroidery and some silk ribbon embroidery on it. It still needs to be quilted. So this is one item to get done sometime in the year 2007.

The second quilt...is a quilt as you go that I started last year this time...in a class at Mary Maxims with a friend. Naturally she has completed hers and two more since....but I have been sidetracked doing other things...I want to get this one done by the beginning of December!! I only have to sew the back seams and then sew the strips together and put on a small binding..."how hard can that be"? LOL oh yeah...I do love swapping hearts and postcards....that seems to get done first...but I will prevail!!!!!! My son that is at home is getting this quilt....he's waiting patiently....

I've made a few more hearts. I'm having a great time with them.
