This is an amazing blog. This is a post from this blog regarding the world wide giveaways. It's amazing to see how many people around the world are involved. I have just started to go thru the list of all the blogs who are giving away goodies...but that is just the beginning....you get to see all the wonderful types of art all over the world. I just thought I would share this as I thought you would all like to either particapte or just check out the blog list.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER!!!
As you can see we are now over 400 participants for this event..........I am thrilled! I made this years event a little longer than the last 2 years due to the shear volume and how long it takes to get through the list, see blogs, comment, look around etc. for everyone. Due to the length of time between the start up and winner announcements there is STILL time to get in on this. However I am going to have to give a cut off date for sending me new links.

FINAL DATE TO EMAIL ME YOUR LINK: FEBRUARY 3rd before midnight PST.(If you are too late I will be emailing you) If you hop on by this last day you will have about a week for people to visit you as part of the event. So sooner is better than later if you can. Tell your friends!
DATE YOU SHOULD CUT OFF YOUR OWN COMMENTS (ON YOUR BLOG): Sometime on the FEBRUARY 11th Give yourselves time to pick a winner and ready your post for announcing the next day.
DATE TO ANNOUNCE YOUR WINNER OR WINNERS: FEBRUARY 12th Be sure to contact your winner(S) to let them know.If you aren't sure how to do be a part of this event read HERE.

Due to shear volume there may be mistakes made by me either in the list name, country or even the link..........or maybe you don't even see your blog name. If any of this happens it's important to email me immediately so it can be rectified. I apologize for any problems but I think you understand it can happen with this many. If you know the # to your blog please include that.I have received such sweet comments and emails, please know I appreciate them but it's just not possible to respond to them all at this point (I'm sure you understand)

I DO THANK YOU SINCERELY and FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART for all your positive feedback. It is my true pleasure to put this together each year as more and more are loving the new connections they are making! That's the point folks and it makes me very happy to see and hear. There is a lot of talent out there too, wow! I am less than half way through commenting on your blogs (I need to be able to thank each one of you) and I can't believe the generosity and lovely blogs I've seen for the first time so far.Don't forget I am not only your host but a participant as well so come on by.
Love,Lisa

Please note: this event is NOT affiliated with something called Blog Candy. I've seen this mentioned on some blogs and it has nothing to do with OWOH. Just wanted to be sure there was no confusion. Thank You.

Good Morning

Well I have had to go back to work...so my days are back to purchasing and quoting. So not a whole lot of time to do my sewing and stuff. I do have one block to get done and one to mail....and when that is done I will only be doing stuff with one group. That is the sewbuds...everyone else will be put on hold. Just letting everyone know I'm around...just not as active as before.

take care everyone and hope you all had a happy new year.

hugs

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot
.A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!
Thank you all for another year visiting with me here at Art~n~Quilt.
It's been a pleasure and I am looking forward to another year.

I'm still around

Hello everyone! I am still here...just have been super busy with life. I do have to finish up a Crazy Quilt block RR this week. I have only been doing some little things lately. Needle felting was one of them and it was a challenge to keep for myself to just make something. But my loveable Chocolate Lab Hershey thought it looked yummy enough to devour! I mad a needle felted strawberry with body that was supposed to be dressed up as going to a ball. Well it made it to a ball well chewed and rounded after Hershey was done with it LOL. Other than that nothing much has been happening....Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Needle Felted doll

I was trying to do a bit of doll making....knowing I have other things to do too at the moment....sculpts to finish up....but this one just happened. I was playing with a ball of yarn. I added some wool roving around it to play with some of my needle felting and this is what became of that ball of yarn. She has a wire armature that makes her a bit posable. A doweling in the middle for her backbone strength. I do not have a pattern for her. She's a one of a kind.
Everyone here says she looks similar to Phyliss Diller LOL...I don't know about that....but she has a familiar look that's for sure....
