Getting Married

Wooo Hooo....I'm Getting married on July 4th!! Just a month away. I haven't posted much on my blog...mostly because I haven't been doing any art. I have two cq blocks to sew and I will post a pic of them. I hope everyone is having a great art and sewing day!

Good Morning

Well I have had to go back to work...so my days are back to purchasing and quoting. So not a whole lot of time to do my sewing and stuff. I do have one block to get done and one to mail....and when that is done I will only be doing stuff with one group. That is the sewbuds...everyone else will be put on hold. Just letting everyone know I'm around...just not as active as before.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall

Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot

.A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

Hello everyone! I am still here...just have been super busy with life. I do have to finish up a Crazy Quilt block RR this week. I have only been doing some little things lately. Needle felting was one of them and it was a challenge to keep for myself to just make something. But my loveable Chocolate Lab Hershey thought it looked yummy enough to devour! I mad a needle felted strawberry with body that was supposed to be dressed up as going to a ball. Well it made it to a ball well chewed and rounded after Hershey was done with it LOL. Other than that nothing much has been happening....Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Needle Felted doll

I was trying to do a bit of doll making....knowing I have other things to do too at the moment....sculpts to finish up....but this one just happened. I was playing with a ball of yarn. I added some wool roving around it to play with some of my needle felting and this is what became of that ball of yarn. She has a wire armature that makes her a bit posable. A doweling in the middle for her backbone strength. I do not have a pattern for her. She's a one of a kind.

Everyone here says she looks similar to Phyliss Diller LOL...I don't know about that....but she has a familiar look that's for sure....

Need Labour Market Opinion Number

My plea....I am trying to find out how to get a list of businesses in Ontario Canada that have open labour market numbers for hiring. My daughter and son in law are trying to find jobs here in Canada to be able to stay. When they get interviews, the companies won't hire because of having to call hrsdc to get a labour market number. Does anyone out there know anyone that can help????????? We are running out of time!!!

Today I decided to have a blog give away.

he's about 10-12 inches tall, he's painted with genesis heat set paints, has a wig for hair and is weighted and a bit poseable.

Yippee pictures LOL...

I have completed these 3 crazy quilt blocks. Two are for the Romance and the other is for the Sewbuds group!

In this block below for the Romance RR I did a dainty muted light purple wisteria vine, with a seam treatment of the same purple and soft yellow french knots.

In this Romance RR block I did a corner with lace, beading, and silk ribbon embroidery. A sealed with a kiss envelope perched on a lace style fence with 3 ribbon bud roses.

This one is from the SewBuds group and is going to be a sewing caddy when it's completed. I added the white lace fan and orange silk ribbon roses, ribbon and purple beads. We had to be careful of the fold lines indicated by the running stitch from the owner of this block

It was sure great to sit and hand sew. I had my morning coffee....sitting in my nice glider relaxing before the rest of the house woke up, (I was up at 5:30) the rest of the house was up starting with the grandkids at 7 am. Anyway it's nice to just sit in the quite of the morning before the day gets busy.

What I've been up to

I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Lots going on here in the house. I've had gallbladder surgery the end of August and I'm just getting myself back to me...and... I have my whole family together and it's a wonderful feeling. My grandchildren are two busy little people for sure LOL. So we've been rearranging lots of rooms and moving stuff around all over the house to make more room. I've made a few clay figurines, pincushions, candles, and dolls. I need to take pictures of that too. I know I'm behind on posting and pictures...I do apologize for that. I did get another CQ block in the mail I need to work on for a RR. I promise to take pics! These blocks for this RR are beautiful that have been coming my way. The work from the other cqers is amazing. You sure can learn alot by seeing others work. I have also been getting some other things together for a show this Saturday in Waterloo. It's a Me Fest. So I am keeping my fingers crossed to sell quite a bit. Ok I'm off for the day...take care everyone.

Well today was a day of relaxing....I sat and did 3 CQRR blocks. They will be mailed off tomorrow or Monday. It's a nice change of creativity when you have something else you can do. I also just purchased 2 small ott lites...wow what a difference in lighting for sure. And one is either a desk style or clamp on which is great! Hope everyone is having a great day!! I will post a few more posts tomorrow...

Donated baby for a cause

There is a cute little guy who needs help as he's just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. His name is Aiden he's 3 years old and he's going thru a rough time. A little scrapbooking store called Memory Makers here in Cambridge, Ontario is doing a silent auction and doing a scraping day on August 23rd and donating all procedes to helping with finances...which we all know is hard. Let's send lots of thoughts and prayers his way that the treatments help him.

For the silent auction I donated a limited edition Madison doll. Let's hope she sells well for him!

We had a wonderful time up north! The cottage was in the middle of nowhere LOL...we did some town touring and lots of fishing! I even found a quilt store!! Later on today I will post some pictures of the beautiful quilts the owner of the store made! As for now....unpacking to do and laundry.....yippee.....but then I get to get some sewing and sculpting done! It's nice to have holidays...but it's nice to be back home too!

I made this mermaid doll almost a year ago and didn't know what to do with her LOL. When I got home from the auction I had a muscial dolphin ornament. I took off the dolphins and put on my doll with some sea pearls and a real dried starfish! I think she looks just fine riding her wave!

My Quilting Doll Sculpt

This was supposed to be a beginning of a baby sculpt out of polymer clay. But this doll had a mind of her own and has said I've grown up and this is what I want to do LOL. So here she is after being baked and painted and baked. I did make a body too...with the holes to attach limbs, but I forgot to make the head with a wire coming out the bottom and the body to accept it..sigh......so I had to improvise. I made indents to tie the limbs into a soft body, which I made from a nice sock and then I felted a nice wool onto it to make it look like her underclothes.

So after that process I had to decide what to make her clothes out of. As you all know I have been going to some auctions and acquiring some very nice material, laces, vintage hankies and trims and laces, and some different trinkets too. That is what her outfit is made of. Some fine white satin, a vintage hankie shawl, some vintage lace accents.

She is quilting on a crazy quilt heart. In her had she holds her threaded needle that she is quilting cqing in another area of the heart. The middle photo below I was trying to get a closeup of her eyes as I put on real eyelashes on the top, but I painted the bottom lashes. I also gave her manicured fingers and toes, and the end photo here you see her slippers with beaded trim.

She sits on a embroidered stool I made for her out of an old spool, painted and crackled, and glued onto an empty pearl pin holder. Her soft cushion is made out of a round makeup sponge covered in burgandy velvet with hand embroidery on top. It's wrapped with a vintage lace and around the bottome some felting yarn and buttons. As she sits and quilts her cq heart she has her sewing basket. It's one of my auction finds lol. A little wooden type cup and I made her little fat quarter bundles, her tomato pincushion with pins, and two spools of thread that I bought the spools and wrapped the thread on it myself.

I really liked seeing her come to life and incorporating all my arts into one creation. I will also be putting her up for sale.

A Lady of Distinction

I am pleased with this sculpt I've done. Her head and torso are of polymer clay. Her bottom part is a thick cardbord spool weighted inside and sealed on the bottom. She is very much a Lady of Distinction with the air about her personality. LOL She has pierced ears...which I gave her pearl earrings and a nice chain around her neck. I made her clothes and bag out of vintage lace and doilies that I bought at an auction. Her hair is premium blond mohair that I hand felted to give it it's style. I was hoping to find a jeweled or beaded hair clip for her.....but I had to use one of my little ones instead LOL...I will keep looking for her for that. Her face is hand painted with genesis heat set paints and sealed with a varnish. She has eyelashes too!!!! There isn't any pattern or mold for this doll

Altered Barbie Challenge completed

Well she is done.....and I've decided on a name...(thank you everyone who posted a name for her) A Tales Journey. I came about that name after I added on some sculpted faces and sayings. As whichever way she turns is a journey into a new or old story, may it be fact or fiction. She will take you on that journey. I also gave her a nice copper staff. I enjoyed making this piece of mixed media art alot. I think the hardest thing of all is to come up with a name for the items that are made. I think I will make a few more altered barbie items....would make a nice addition to a sale.

She is so precious....and loveable. She is 17 1/2 inches long. She's been painted with Genesis heat set paints and is weighted with polypellets and fiberfill and sealed. She has a soft doesuede body. Her hair and eyelashes have been microrooted (which took me over 7 hours to do) with premium angora mohair. Her fingernails and toenails are detailed....

Well I have decided to make a few changes in my sewing machine line LOL. I am selling off the above machines...I am considering a Bernina BSR QE400 with the embroidery unit. Sew I would like some feedback on this machine if any of you have it out there????? I test drove it at the Toronto Sewing Fest on Saturday!! I had fun with it. But would like to know from users who have had it for awhile....let me know!!!!

Dimensional Acrylic Painting

I've been playing with my paints too. I've purchase some of Donna Dewberry's videos and books and gave her technique a try....the one stroke painting. Here is a sampling of two of the many paintings that I've done. Iris's and a landscape. They were alot of fun to do....I will post more of them later!

Art Collage

A friend of ours had a cute baby in Januay and sent us some pictures. I made this collage for them. It's made from an artist board for painting pictures on.

How I made it....I painted a base of white gesso. Dried that with my heat gun and added some glue in the area I wanted to add the vintage lace doily. I took the 3 pictures they sent and put them together in word and printed them and cut it into a heart and added the pink lace and beads. I had another picture of the baby alone and glued that onto cardboard stock and made it 3d. I gold leafed around the doily and the baby and used distressing ink on the rest of the image to bring them all together. I used pink dimensional paint around the outside then added more vintage lace on the corners. I added some scrapbooking goodies to make it more dimensional and added her name on a wire that also doubled as the hanger. I have to finish the backing with thier names and date of birth info and then it will be sent off to the happy family.

Polymer Clay Mermaid

Well here she is all painted up..... I used a basecoat of white gesso and then mixed up my own flesh colour. I used dimensional paints for her tail to give it texture. Her base is made up of a hockey card insert advertisement. They are almost 3 times the thickness of a card and very sturdy. I painted that a mix of blues for a water looking base and after that was dry I added a layer of glue. I put her on the base and added pearly type seed beads and shells. I sprayed the whole thing with a varnish. I think she looks like she is missing something...but not sure what. But she is finished!!!!

Wow seems as tho the postoffice must have taken the blocks that were in rotation lol. Although I've been busy otherwise. I've created a few more sculpts and dolls....and I've also found a new love lol...auctions! I have gone to some auctions over the past 3 weeks and have come home with alot of new treasures!! I've acquired some beautiful linens....hand embroidered, some placemats...ok alot of placemats lol, and crochet thread, yarn, patterns, tablecloths, baskets, and a doll crib. WOW it's been awesome! I also got two boxes full of nice material too! I will take some pictures and post some of my treasures!

Just posting to let everyone know I'm still around LOL....I haven't done a whole lot since my last post. I have a few things to finish up....and will post them when they are done. We are finally getting rid of all the snow!! Today was very much a spring day!! I'm looking forward to the warmer weather.

Sculpting and CQ

Here are a few sculpts I have been working on while waiting on some more cq blocks to arrive. I'm mailing mine out today, as I have been sick this past week so I didn't get to the postoffice. But I have these pictures to share, one is a mermaid holding her tail and the other is a baby in progress....she's waiting for arms too lol.

CQ RR Romance and Spring

Wow this has been a very creative week!! I have completed so much. Here is the Romance RR Block I worked on. I did the corner with tatting and silk ribbon roses with a butterfly charm/bead. I added a button hole stitch along the seam.

This block is for the group cq4 newbies...its a spring share block. I work half and another person works half of mine!! This is Sharons Block that I worked on.

This picture shows the full blue section I did with silk ribbon roses, beads, couching of the letter S for spring and Sharon LOL. two charms. I did the feather stitch with sead beads on the two seams. I added a dyed butterfly and button to the pink section shown with lazy daisy stitch flowers and a bead in the center.

In the upper right hand corner I added a bumble bee and some blue silk ribbon flowers and some french knots. I think it came out pretty nice. Now I have to pack them up and ship them off....I think I will do that tomorrow!!!

LOL. This is exciting for me....I still have to get the store part up and running but I'm just pleased to get it up on the internet!!!! What a job....until I could figure out how to get the darn thing uploaded...then have stuff go haywire and look silly. GEEEEEEEEEE....so.......anyway I'm happy so far...but I'm sure there will be changes again to the backgrounds as I find other stuff....but the layout will generally be the same...

Here is another collectible....Her name is Petal...she's a 12 inch tall little girl. The vinyl was painted with genesis heat set paints. I felted her body and microrooted her hair. This OOAK baby is for sale.

I have complete the head and arms and finished rooting the hair on this fairy. I used Genesis Heat Set paints on the head and limbs. Then rooted the hair with mohair. This will be a garden type fairy doll.

I had a great time doing these two blocks...ohhhhhhh and looking forward to the rest of the RR blocks to come!! This first one belongs to Margaret in Austrailia...and is on it's way to KTJ.... I made a vine heart with silk ribbon flowers and leaves...and beads in the center of the flowers.

This next block is for the Romance RR....Carol in Florida actually made 4 mini blocks...and I chose to work on this one...

they are all beautiful blocks...but this one caught my eye and I added tatting along the seem and added some embellishments to it and beads. I also added tatted butterfly with a bead body. I also added some bullion rose buds..

My Visit & embroidery

Well I am back from a week with my daughter and grandkids!! Delaware around where she lives is a beautiful little state. Lots of special little shops and beaches all around you. We had alot of fun shopping and I got to spend a wonderful week watching and playing with the kids. My granddaughter started preschool the day I left. She loved it so much! I did find a small sewing shop and bought some threads and an embroidery lap stand and the rollers....very good price for it. Especially since the land of Delaware does not have any added taxes....for me that's a major bonus!!! Our taxes I think are at 13% so anything I can buy while visiting her is a great savings.

I also finished up stitching while I was there the cq romance block I need to send off today. I will post pictures later of the block.

I also took the very first reborn doll I made and Kenzie fell in love with it..and geeeeee could Grammy say no, of course not....lol...so that little baby found a new home! Now that I am back I have a few more dolls to finish up my web page is in the works..need to finish up that this week hopefully and get it going. I am enjoying the crazy quilting that I have gotten back into.....I think I am going to incorporate that onto some of the babies outfits as well as some machine embroidery. I think I need to talk to Judyth and see if I can get some nice material to make some pretty christening type outfits for the babies I'm making....hard to find silks n satins here without paying a fortune...

anyway it's good to be home...but I miss my daughter and grandkids "pout"
but I will be making another trip in the summer....but not driving...11 hours is just to long for one person...it's totally exhausting, so I will get my passport and will fly from now on....

Fairy Doll n holiday

The next step is the body....bought some lovely fairy material!! light and airy...along with wonderful wings to fly her around. I will be going to see my daughter and grandchildren for a few weeks. Although I won't have this wonderful baby ready for this trip I am still looking forward to seeing them all. It will be a nice break.

Here is another Heart I've done....I like how this one came out....with bullion daisies and heather and a victorian style lace applique. I also added a small butterfly gold charm. This one is available for swap.

I've also joined some other CQ swaps lately...I will be doing instead of birds n bees...a nice spring swap and on another group I will be doing a bookmark. I've also joined a few other groups...I plan to be busy!!!!

I just did this heart...I love how the shading worked out on the roses. I did notice that there is a piece of thread on one of the roses...but geeee......I'm not going to try and get another picture as good as this. I think this one came out really good!!!!

Santa was good!!!!! I received tons of wonderful presents from Santa!! Embroidery thread, Buttons, Scissors, Harry Potter Book (All 7 collection) Candles, Robe, Jewelry, Movies, CD's, BubbleBath, Socks and oh so much more......We had the most wonderful family Christmas and that was the most bestest gift ever!!! Dinner was turkey, stuffing, potatoes and pumpkin pie. We listened to Christmas music, played video games, scrabble, and I sewed some more crazy quilt hearts...yes I will get my pictures up tomorrow....I will take a few more...I promise..

As for snow......we had ALOT! Our piles are high! The weather was decent for the day! Hershey even opened his own present!!!

Whoooooohoooooooooo...how great it felt to just sit down last night and sew. I made a crazy quilt heart...and will make a few more to trade on chain of hearts group! It seems like it's been a long time since I've done that. I've been trying to get Christmas together...the tree is up...and the shopping is almost done.....yes I know....I am a bit late..and the crowds are getting more and more in the mall. BUT I will prevail LOL. I was trying to get my sewing room reorganized...I still have some boxes to be unpacked. I made a bit of headway...wish it were done LOL...but I will be posting some pictures tomorrow. stay tuned!!!!!!!!!

Amazing how time flies when you are having fun.....I just realized that my last post was my 100th!!! I looked back at all the different things I have done and wonder.....wow where did I find the time! I work full time during the day.....take care of the house, son and puppy....and now I need to make MORE time to get back into my fun.

I want to thank everyone for coming to share in my arts....my family....my life. Thank you for all the comments as well. Without all of you this blog wouldn't be what it is.

Thank you Maureen for the comment about my two grandchildren. I have just come back from a wonderful weekend with both of my kids and my grandkids. We went to a fall festival there, rode some rides, won goldfish, and we shopped!!!!!!.....We bought halloween costumes, transformers, and barbies, movies and ps2 games. "What???? me spoil them all???? nooooooo never......heheheheh...I don't get to see them often as they live in the states and I'm in Canada...and it's usually a 12 hour drive to see them, but we met half way in Pennsylvania which was only a 6 hour drive for us both. Now it's time to get back into my sewing and dolls and crafts.....

Here is a small hand embroidery/xstitch dragonfly I did. It seemed to take forever to complete with everything else. But it was something small I new I could complete. I think it came out pretty good. It's placed inbetween a green coloured glass.

Well I love my new goodies, I went shopping yesterday and this is what I got! A new Janome,....not just one but 3!! The expression for felting, the coverpro 1000, and the Jem 760! So more goodies to help me be more creative! So yesterday I was tinkering with them all! I hemmed my curtains finally...(I could have done that before but...) new machine I had to play with lol. So today a bit more work of unpacking and some playing! I will be posting a picture of a crossstitch dragonfly that I did later on today. ohhh boy I'm on my way!!!!!!!!!

Almost There

Well, I can almost see the whole room!!!!!! My studio is almost completed!!! Which means I will soon be able to get back in there at least a few hours a day!!! YIPPEE!!!! It's not as big as my other room, but I took up two rooms in the house and the dining room. So I get to spend time in lots of my rooms LOL...One room for my books, one for my art, and guess the dining room gets to be shared with the sewing machines as it has the biggest brightest windows!!! As for the rest of the house...my bedroom is about 95% complete and so is the living room. My sons room is 75% and the rest of the basement...ohhhhh well....ummmmm only about 40% It will surely be the last to be finished up for sure. Sooooo, soon I will be able to be posting pictures again!

I can't wait!!!!!!!!

I Survived my Move...

Ok well sortof survived....I now live in a bigger world of boxes LOL. BUT I have to say
the house is beautiful and is starting to look like home. I hurt all over....gee I didn't know alot of these muscles could hurt so much LOL....I am going to try and get my studio done over the labour day weekend. I am missing my art and sewing ALOT! I will be back to doing what I love in a week or two!!

Susan, I bought a couple of books about rock painting....and just painted. I didn't take any classes for those. The clay I am using is sculpey and I bake it in the oven. So after I bake it I will paint it. Eventually I will be making my dolls faces and maybe bodies out of clay. I do need lots of practice tho!

I have made a blog and new email for my upcoming business....and I am working on those to try and get the look I want to accomplish. Not an easy task. I am also going to register my business name and then will have a website also. I am hoping to get this completed over the next couple of months and get my "store" online.

Moving day is coming quickly and still kinda living out of my boxes LOL....it's frustrating! So this month will be kind of hectic to complete the packing. Which means not much play time for me. Not that there has been much play time from the look of my blog...very sad indeed!!!

One Year Anniversary Month

Wow, it's hard to believe that it's been one year since I've started this blog. I never thought I would keep it up that long LOL. Let alone find things to post about!! I do want to thank all of you for visiting and encouraging my posts and seeing my projects.

And another update...looks like my son and I are going to move! (yes again!) We are renting at the moment but we found a nice little bungalow with an awesome garage/workshop to buy. Means I will be expanding my art some LOL. This is also the start of our business venture. More space...to create. Soooooooo it's a good thing I haven't unpacked alot of my stuff yet.

Hello everyone, I thought I would post to keep my blog alive. Life has been a bit stressful for me and I haven't sewn in awhile. I am going to take some pictures of some completed swaps that I've done...and my CQ RR block that has returned home. All these things are truly beautiful...not just because it's "art" in many forms but because wonderful people from around the world have created them and sewn them. The stitching on my CQ block is to die for and I would do another RR as it went so smoothly and ahead of schedule.

Charlene!!! Thanks for tagging....I think.......7 things about me...hmmmmmmmm

1. I am orginally from Pennsylvania. I moved to Canada 10 years ago....I enjoy living here very much.

2. At the moment I am living with my son. I am still sort of living out of my boxes. It's so hard to get organized when you move from a big house to a medium house. Am having withdrawl symptoms...I haven't done any type of sewing or creating in awhile.

3. My family (kids and grandkids) are very important to me. They come first in my life. My dad died when I was 14....and my mom...well that's a long story..... but I will thank her for my creative side and for teaching me to sew.

4. I love cartoons!!!! The kid side of me of course....which is very evident in my personality. I love the pixar movies....Finding Nemo...shrek....harry potter...disney...you name it I probably have the dvd.

5. I had my own business in the states...and am looking to start one here very soon. I am looking into the business end of it. I've been wanting to do this for a very long time and I know it's an adventure I will thoroughly enjoy.

6. I'm a book addict ......it's hard to pass up magazines and sewing books. I really need another bookcase. No I won't stop buying books.....

7. I enjoy the outdoors too....hiking, walking, the beach....and haven't done any of that in a long while....but I think I am going to start now..as life is just toooo short...and you never know what life is going to throw your way.

I am not going to tag anyone this time..but I did enjoy being tagged. It gives you a chance to think about your life...and what is happening...what is good and what is bad. It gives you time to reflect about the past and the future.

Heart Decor

This morning in my room.....I was starting to clean...LOL yeah right...who believes that one. Anyway I came across this heart I made awhile ago. It has the felted flowers, machine embroidery, and beading on it. WELL, I picked it up and I put a back on it and began stuffing. Thinking, well now what...so I dug out some silk Ivy leaves and a few flowers. I added a dragonfly and some hot crystals...( and believe me when they say hot they mean hot, I burnt my finger on the tool as I almost dropped and and grabbed for it, hmmmm not a good thing) LOL...but here is the final results.

Today was my time to just be in my room. Sometimes you just need to reflect on your life..and your surroundings.....

I had started a few weeks ago a felted body...it was made out of felted yarn as I don't have any roving. It just stared at me every time I sat at my table to make my postcards LOL...saying "finish me finish me" LOL...well today was her day...I gave her a polymer face, beaded hair, shells for her top and just made up my own fin bottom...no patterns. I wrapped her felted body with yarn...added more beading....and wow...my mermaid was born....she does need a name....

I had a beautiful Easter. I spent it in the states with my grandchildren...and my daughter and my son. It's been awhile since the three of us had a holiday spent together. We had a wonderful time. ATD Crazy Quilt Body and TAST

I have been working on the other Artist Trading Doll Bodies for my swap on Fabric-olics group. This has been a nice afternoon/evening as I crazy quilted this body. I also was behind on my TAST so I incorporated my stitches into this project. I have the barred chain across the top, the cross stitch down the middle next to the spider and the Double Barred buttonhold on the right. I did split the bar making it look like a V. I had fun making the spider web and spider. Tomorrow I will make the rest of her parts!

Art Doll Foldy Completed

Here is my Artist Trading Doll Foldy. I completed her today. I think I'll call her Rhinestone Petals. I have three pictures of her. One folded up, a closeup and a full body pose. For my first ATD I think she came out pretty nice. I have made her wings out of left over embroidery threads sandwiched between wws. Her body is hand felted and attached to a cardboard backing. I glued on some silk flowers and leaves to give some dimension. I used heat set crystals on her head, necklace, arms and toes. All pieces are attached with brads. I have to make 3 more of these type dolls but have decided to do their bodies crazy quilt style with silk embroidery. When I start them I will post pictures!
